What Does A Good Household Product Label Need?

September 19, 2016 By Doug Danosky

The household product label has come a long way

No clean home in the country is without household products. We have different products for bathrooms, kitchens, windows, floors, and even the air. Three decades ago, customers only trusted established companies, and brand names dominated the market for household cleaners. Today however, there is plenty of room for competition, and more brands are turning to custom household product labels from T&L Graphic Systems to help get their products in front of consumers.

So, how can you communicate with consumers about the benefits of your household product and everything it has to offer? Here are some tips for designs for household product labels that will help capture attention and uphold your reputation as a brand of quality products:

1. Offer value

People love a deal, and they want to communicate digitally. Don’t just include your website on your cleaning supply label; create a QR code that links to email sign-ups, giveaways, testimonials, coupons, or whatever is appropriate for your product. Allow consumers to immediately apply a discount, and they’ll be more likely to purchase your product.

2. Spotlight safety benefits

Your household product labels must clearly inform consumers of any safety concerns such as chemicals that become more potent over time as well as chemicals that are dangerous to small animals or children. You should also use your custom label to point out all of the benefits you offer and make this information easy to see. Why is your product better than other brands? Is it fragrance-free? Are chemicals non-toxic? Is it safer for the environment?

3. Highlight other benefits

Even if your product isn’t the most eco-friendly, people like value, so use your product label to highlight other benefits instead. Do portions of the proceeds benefit those in need? Does your company do any charity work? Can consumers achieve a better result using less product than your competitors?

4. Use a household product label that can withstand the product

You grabbed the consumer’s attention, you persuaded them to buy your product, and now it is in the customer’s home. While the effectiveness of the product is the ultimate test, if the contents degrade the household product labels, it will compromise the consumer’s perception of quality. Although you might spend a little more for a durable label, ask yourself: how likely is someone to buy the product again if the label A) has degraded so much that you can’t even read the brand, and B) looks ragged among other cleaning supply labels?

Choosing the right custom printed label manufacturer like T&L Graphic Systems will make all of the difference in quality. Whether you’ve got a new product you are introducing or you’d simply like to make your current product more appealing to consumers, it’s important to thoroughly research manufacturers of household product labels to find the one that can best meet the needs of you and your brand.
